Little girl is waiting

Waiting to grow older

Waiting to be tall enough to ride the roller coaster

Waiting to be eighteen

Waiting by the door

Waiting as she’s waited there a thousand times before

Waiting for her dinner,

Waiting for a train

Waiting for the sunshine, or waiting for the rain

Waiting for prince charming

Waiting for a friend

Waiting, ever waiting in a circle without end

Waiting to start living

Waiting with a sigh

Waiting ’til she’s old and wrinkled; waiting now to die
